ABU ZARIA OPENS 2026/2027 ADMISSION APPLICATIONS FOR 15 FULL-TIME DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has announced the sale of application forms for admission into 15 full-time diploma and higher diploma programmes offered by its Institute of Education for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The announcement was published in the University’s special bulletin dated Thursday, October 15, 2026. The programmes cover education, languages, sciences, counselling, management and information services.

8. Diploma in Islamic Studies Education
9. Diploma in Integrated Science Education
10. Diploma in Library and Information Science
11. Diploma in Mathematics Education
12. Higher Diploma in Mathematics Education
13. Diploma in Physical and Health Education
14. Diploma in Physics Education
15. Diploma in Educational Management
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS AND DURATION
Entry requirements vary by programme. Most diploma programmes require at least four relevant credit passes in SSCE/GCE or the specified merit passes in a Grade II Teachers’ Certificate. Some programmes require specific subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, sciences or the relevant language.
Most diploma programmes run for four semesters, while the Diploma in Adult Education and Community Development and the Higher Diploma in Adult Education and Community Development run for two semesters. The Higher Diploma in Mathematics Education also runs for two semesters and has additional entry requirements.

- Application deadline: Two months from the publication date, subject to the University’s official deadline confirmation.
Applicants are required to create an account on the portal, generate a transaction ID and use the generated RRR to make payment through a commercial bank before completing the application process.
